In this tour we will visit small towns where people continue the work of “Tata Vasco” (first Bishop of Michoacan) in the indigenous communities of the region. We begin with a visit to Tupátaro, where we can find the Sistine Chapel of Michoacán, is a small chapel where we have a hand painted ceiling by indigenous people dating from the XVI century as well as an altarpiece covered in gold.

We continue our journey to Cuanajo, a community well known for its work in wood where the people make handmade furniture. Following on our way we arrive to Santa Clara del Cobre, designated as a Magical Town and recognized for its work in copper; In this town we will visit Casa Felicitas, where the master craftsman will give us a demonstration of how copper is worked from its origin form until the final piece, we can not only see how the craftsmen work but we can hit the copper to know the effort of the craftsmen. We will have a short shopping time and continue our tour to Zirahuen.

In Zirahuen there is a lake, known as the Mirror of the Gods for its crystal clear waters, which will serve as inspiration to have lunch. Optionally you can take a boat tour of the lake for 30mins before our return to Morelia.
